Dungeon Siege II (Wednesday Gaming) x2

Sorry for the week absense, we did do gaming and I'm going to do a two week update in a single post. Here goes.

On the 25th of April, Bethany, Courtney, and Matt came expressing great interest in Dungeon Siege II. George and I set them up on a game with the three of them and showed them the ropes. Matt chose a male elf and focused in nature/combat magic. Bethany chose a female human and focused in melee combat and Bethany chose a female human and focused in combat magic. They were killing things and collecting things all over the place. While they were going threw the first few quests, I set up our other group.

Morgan (our new employee), Joe, and Mindy (friend visiting from Hawaii) played together on another server. Morgan was running an male elven ranger. Joe was running a Half-Giant fighter and Mindy ran a female elven combat mage. They too ran threw their quests quickly and with great ease.

Each set of gamers were quickly learning the ropes and leveling up. Morgan and Matt had reached 11th level. Joe and Mindy were about 9th, Bethany and Courtney were about 7th level by the end of the night. They each had a secondary character too. Bethany and Courtney had scorpions, Matt had Lothar, Morgan had a dire wolf and Joe and Mindy stayed solo.

While those two three man games ran, George and I picked up on our game with our higher level characters. I was running a male human ranger, level 26 and I had Lothar level 26 too. George was running a male elf combat mage and a female dryad nature mage. We were killing and slaying along too.

The 2nd of May, Bethany, Matt, and Courtney were back, as well as Nick. I set up the three amigos on their same game, but I changed it to allow a fourth person. Here is the draw back to Dungeon Siege II multiplayer, you can have one of the following multiplayer settings. Classic - four single player controlled characters. Party - three player controlled characters and a sub-character. Couples - two player controlled characters and two sub-characters.
I set them up to play together and showed Nick the ropes. He caught on rather quickly. They ended up learning to play together as a team really quickly. Especially when they started running into little sub-bosses that killed them as they ran around solo. I helped them work together before George and I started our game together. Morgan had to leave early so Joe played WoW instead of joing the game with George and I. (Which he wanted to do anyway, something about 65 Mage and 25-man raid :-D).

Through out the night, Bethany was crushing many little minions of evil with her critical while Matt and Courtney froze and fried them. Nick joined in the fray with both fire and lightning. He ran a Half-Giant combat mage. The game raged on for most of the night and they came across a Morden captain sub-boss with a few sub-boss minions. That kept them engaged for about an hour until Courtney froze it and he blew up from the damage.

George and I ended up fighting an enraged shambling mound/tree for about 25 minutes and then fighting a Mage of Vordin for another 45 minutes. Both had 35000 + health. We won in the end and are on our way to the Snowfort Outpost.

Around 9 o'clock, Nick left and we switched their game back to Party mode and they continued for another 30 minutes or so until Matt ended up finding a camera glitch and was stuck overtop of his character's knees looking at his feet ONLY! We tried all we could to get the camera off of him but nothing helped. In the end, the just ended the server and played a few rounds of BF2142 until they had to leave.

Age of Empires III (Wednesday Gaming)

Tonight, we had Bethany, Courtney, Nicholas, Matt, Joe, George, and myself.

Our first map was the lama run again. We ended up running in two teams. Courtney, Nick, Mat, and CPU, vs me, Bethany, and 2 CPUs. Everyone but myself ran way ahead to kill things and get through the map quickly. I stayed behind and killed all the units to level up quickly, again. :-D. Then when Nick and Courtney were getting bashed by the Bust of George Washington and several rows of canons. I ran up from the back to remove two canons in a few seconds. Then Bethany and I charged the lama. We won. :-)

Our next map was another custom map called Mountain Run. It was Bethany, Courtney, Nick, Mat, and myself against two computers on moderate. We all had equal resource gathering built up and worked on making sure we had some sort of army together. I was Russian, Bethany and Courtney were English, Nick was Dutch and Matt was Spanish. I had 13 Stretlets and 4 Cossacks that I was maintaining our 'army' with while Bethany and Courtney worked on gather wood for our team wall. Matt was fishing and Nick was gathering all the buffalo he could find. I was advancing to age III when the Spanish CPU attacked in FULL force. About 20 halberds and 10 Rifleman who mowed threw my Stretlets and Cossacks. With the army down, I tried to rally everyone but the French CPU hit us from below with a similar force and killed off Nick and Bethany before we could rally a defense. The loss was swift and painful.

Group decision for the next game was something quick and easily learned. They asked for some Halo. I agreed. We setup the map for a few rounds of Blood Gulch on Team Slayer. It was Bethany, Courtney, and Nick against Mat and I for several rounds while Joe was patching. Mat and I were hanging in there while Bethany tried to run us over. The map ended in a win for Mat and I, but barely. It was 50 to 39.

The second map was a custom map where I added ALL the vehicles and had it set to Heavy Weapons. We also had infinite grenades. We played a few times in Blood Gulch where we killed with the scorpions and the banshees. Mat was great at flying the banshee but I was on the other team with Joe so, I sniped him out of the sky with the scorpion. That map was won by Joe and I but that was because Courtney and Nick were running suicides with the rocket launchers for fun.

The third map was on the Death Canyon map where we flew around in banshees. Mat, and I versus Courtney, Nick and Bethany. They (Nick, Bethany and Courtney), playing suicide bombers with each other in the team buildings with the grenades, flame throwers and rocket launches after I turned off team-killing. Mat and I killed them every now and then with some frags down the tunnel or a well placed rocket, but the map ended from a time-out before we could kill them enough.

The final map was a quick death match in the small Beaver Creek map. We just threw grenades and hid in the streams while killing each other. Courtney was enjoying the ability to make herself fly sky high with her own rocket launcher. She would shoot the ground wherever she was at. Nick and Bethany made up for much of her suicides though, while Mat and I attempted to kill both Nick and Bethany. I also attempted to get to Courtney before she got to herself. :-D. Needless to say, Nick and I won, but it was about 30 seconds before the map ended from a time out. There were LARGE explosions and several bodies flew high in the air.

After the final map of Halo, both Courtney and Nick had to leave. Bethany, Mat, and I played two quick matches in Battlefield 2 against bots. We were on the Daiqan Oil Fields and were USA. We won both maps, the first one was about 127 - 0 and the second was about 173 - 0. Each map, Bethany and I teamed up and she was medic while I was Spec. Ops. We worked well and took several flags each time until we had them all. Mat was continually sniping the first map and did quite well. He killed about 23 people. The second map he spent a lot of time flying a helicopter and crashing. Twice with me as the gunner. Which, needless to say, was extremly difficult going sideways and upside down. All in all, it was great fun and everyone had a blast.

Battlefield 2142 (Wednesday Gaming)

Sorry for missing the post last week. I ended up getting my actual PC back for the first time in a long time and was catching up on a serious backlog in Manga and Anime.

Well, the Wednesday night began with starting out doing several multiplayer maps on the LAN to warm up. We had Courtney, Nicholas, Bethany, Michael, Brittany, George, Joe, and myself. It was pretty much all of us versus the computer.

The first map, was mainly everyone but Joe and I while we patched our BF2142 to version 1.2. Courtney was starting off as her usual self, and killed Nick about 3 times before she realized that blue/green named people who sneak up on you are actually friends trying to back you up. Bethany and George were terrorizing in any mech they found and Michael was still learning the mechanics of the game, and driving! They did a great job running around and capturing flags, but Courtney and Nick ended up jumping off building tops and dying more often than capturing flags. This eventually led to a lose on their side to the computer.

The second map, which was the one with EU at the bottom, with a mech and PAC up the hill with 3 other flags and a church near the EU flag; was run on by all of us. Joe and I did a large amount of regaining lost flags, especially our Command Center spot. Courtney enjoyed her first time as Commander and learned the mechanics of the position. We helped her help us, which was REALLY! needed those first few 100 tickets, cause Courtney and Nick were still doing their roof diving. The main issue was everytime we ran into a mech, NOONE was an engineer, so we improvised a few ways of killing them and keeping the mech. I held the buidling between the road block flag and the command center while we mounted a counter assault. This happened after Joe and I were taking back the Command Center flag and the other two flags were lost to a swarm of EU units. Bethany, our commander, had even died. As soon as she spawned, I found her a hiding spot and we went into full defend for the first few minutes back in, the computer even dropped two orbital strikes on us before trying to climb the hill without a mech. We did win all three rounds of that map.

The third map was the map with a bridge in the middle and helicopter/jets at each end. Joe and I hovered over the end of the bridge and rained hell on all who approached, with the EU helicopter. Michael flew around in our copter and we kept air superiority for awhile. We won the first round about 5 minutes after it started. The second round, Joe flew while I gunned. Sadly, he tried a fly threw the bridge, bounced 3 times and we exploded. Bethany grabbed the mech by the inner bridge lock and George was running around with the hover tank. Courtney was Bethany's top gunner and Nicholas was hopping about with the jeep. The second round lasted longer and we won it too. The third was the longest yet, were Joe and I stayed out of the skies for most of it and I took up the Commander. I dropped several EMP strikes on their Mech while George was in our Mech holding the outer bridge lock. We waited while Brittany and Courtney took two tanks around the back side of the final EU flag point and took the flag. There was one EU guy left we couldn't find for a while. I ended up running him over near the outer bridge lock thinking he was a teammate :-x. LOL. Great times.

Everyone got online for a bit but it ended being time to go for most of the gamers. Brittney, Michael, Courtney, and Nicholas. Bethany and George and I started a quick round for AoE 3 but didn't last too long before her mom came in.

Halo (Wednesday Gaming)

Well, this week we were joined by several extra people. Not only did Bethany, Courtney, and Nicholas show up, but Josh came as well as two new people, Kaine and Znake. Our total in Halo gameplay was about 8 people total.

Our matches consisted of deathmatch, team deathmatch, king of the hill, and capture the flag.

The first two rounds of deathmatch, Josh and I were still setting up our PCs. Joe and George took 1st and 2nd (respectively). After I joined in, I took the top spot for the following round.

The next three matches were team deathmatch and Joe and I let others on our PCs for a bit. The teams were Courtney, Bethany, Nick and George versus Kaine, Znake, Joe, and I. My team came out on top the first round by SHEER luck. Ben, a frequent visitor kept causing several of MY teammates to shoot me! Luckily, a slap on the back of the head solved that :-) Joe and I got back in and finished the last two rounds on top. I had 25 kills the second map and 29 the third.

After team deathmatch we switched to 2:00 minute King of the Hill. Kaine won the first match with George in a close second with 1:45 time total. I didn't join until the end of the first match. The second match, I won with Kaine coming in second with 0:49. The third round, George won by constantly running people over with the Warthog and edging past Znake with 1:54.

Our final map was a single round of Capture the Flag. I was teamed with Kaine and Znake and we didn't work well together. I was seperated from them and the talking and coordination was off. George, Josh, and Bethany were the second team. Courtney left early and Joe dropped out to play Stalker (he bought 4 hours earlier). My team killed a LOT, but sadly, we didn't work together to get the flag. George and Bethany worked on defense and offense together and scored on us twice. That was when we called it a night.

Age of Empires III (Wednesday Gaming)

Nicholas, Bethany, and Courtney came this week to play both Age of Empires III and Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War with George, Joe, and I.

We played the AoE3 race map where everyone races after the lama. I won that game, it was a VERY close race at the end. Bethany came in second while Courtney was RIGHT behind her.
After that map, we played a normal round of AoE3, all of us fought against two computers on Hard. We carried out a great game and baracaded our side of the map. George got the most points at the end of the map. I earned the most awards. Courtney had least resources and George had the most resources. We tore through both Napolean's and Henry's defenses in the last 14 minutes of our map.

Next, we started up a game of Rise and Fall. Courtney, Bethany, and Nicholas against four computers set on the third difficulty level. Courtney and Bethany were Egypt and Nicholas was Rome. Courtney and Bethany gathered large amounts of resources while Nicholas built several armies to throw around the map. The game ended in a draw because the girls had to leave and Nicholas's ride came.

The end of the game was mainly in Bethany's favor for buildings and research. Courtney had the largest amount of glory and Nick had the largest army and loss of units.
